Residential and commercial building in Kalkbreite, Zurich
How do you build a seven-storey construction with a jointless façade and outstanding environment credentials quickly, economically and in compliance with the Swiss Minergie P-ECO standard? The new Kalkbreite residential and office building in the heart of Zurich shows how it can be done. This forwardlooking building was constructed as a hybrid structure consisting of a concrete frame with prefabricated façade modules. The external insulation is ensured by PAVATEX DIFFUTHERM wood fibre insulation boards. Acting as render carrier boards, they permit not only a jointless façade construction but also an outstanding level of energy efficiency, respect for the environment and comfort for building occupants.
